Billy Hilton, Jr.

Billy Don Hilton, Jr., beloved son, brother, uncle and friend, died Oct. 20, 2017. He was born May 29, 1965.

Born in Dos Palos, Calif., Bill spent his childhood and teenage years living in and around Los Banos, Calif. Growing up in a musical family, Bill discovered his love for playing the piano and organ at the age of 14. It was at this same time that Bill found his love of serving the Lord Jesus. These two events would characterize the rest of his life as he affected many lives through his musical gifts and ministry.

Bill enjoyed coming to the mountains of the Gold Country with his dad on hunting trips and fell in love with the area. He would later go on to use his ministry and musical gifts to start several churches and ministries in towns up and down the Gold Country together with his close friend.

As a young man, Bill decided to follow his family to Mariposa where the family put down roots and became integrated into the Mariposa community. He worked for several local businesses in the area as well as the family businesses of Hilton Construction and Beaver Creek Sales & Equipment Rentals.

Bill was a loving son, brother and uncle — and a loyal friend.

Bill passed on from this life at the age of 52 after a long, hard fought battle with diabetes and diabetic related complications and diseases.

He is survived by his father and mother, Bill, Sr. and Carolyn Hilton; sister, Shara Bishop; brother, Duane Hilton; three nephews, Tony Jr, Joshua, and Cameron; two nieces, Carolyn and Brittany; a great nephew, Anakin; aunt, Anna; uncle: Roy; and many cousins as well as close friends. Bill’s legacy also lives on through the many lives he has touched and affected through the years.

An 11 a.m. memorial service on Oct. 30 will be held at Mariposa Funeral Home, 4981 9th Street. A potluck gathering will follow the service.
