Keith Hillis

Keith Allen Hillis was born into this world on Feb. 10, 1959. Keith learned a love of the outdoors at a young age, learning to fish with his Granny and Grandpa and oldest sister this was a love that he passed on to his son William and his grandson Dakoda.

Keith spent the last 43 years of his life in Mariposa in the mountains that he loved. He was a mason by trade but a fisherman by heart. After a long hard fight with cancer, Keith went to the giant fishing hole in the sky on Oct. 2, 2017.

Keith was preceded in death by his grandpa Arthur Hillis; his granny Arbie Hillis; father John Daley; mother Sarah Daley; and brother-in-law, Larry Taylor.

Keith leaves behind his life partner and wife of 41 years, Rhonda Hillis, who together had two children, daughter Leanna Hillis (Mike Gellner) and son William Hillis (Lori Hillis); five grandchildren, Keirsten Garcia (Andrew) Trinity, Dakoda, Makayla, and Isabella. Keirsten and Andrew gave Keith his great grandson, Jace Garcia. Keith also leaves behind five sisters: Susan Hibpshman (Tommy), Julie Walliser, Karen McClure (Mike), Laurie Skelton, and Louise Taylor; and one brother, John Daley. He also leaves behind well over 20 nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews; and his aunt Sandy and uncle Zeke who held a special place in his heart.

Services for family and close friends will be set at a later date.
