James Rust, Jr.

James Calvin Rust, Jr., passed away peacefully in the Veterans Hospital in Reno, Nev. on Aug. 1, 2017.

James was born in San Francisco on March 17, 1944, the son of James Calvin Rust, Sr., and Pearl Louise Brochini Rust.

He had three older brothers, Nickolas Edward Brochini, Lawrence Russell Brochini and John Spencer Brochini; a baby sister, Eleanor Pearl Rust; sister, Joan Marie Rust Oliphint; and his first wife, Gayle Lemaster Rust.

He is survived by his second wife, Andree Rust; son, James Calvin Rust III; sisters, Evelyn Brochini Wilson, Beverly Rust Hibpsman; brothers, Robert Rust and Richard Rust; daughters, Cindy Lemaster Rust, Cindy Amstead (Merit); Julie Bustemonte (David); and son, Greg Oliphint (Kim); three grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and a bounty of cousins.

James attended the Bear Creek School and others in Mariposa.

He left Mariposa when he was inducted into the Navy in 1966. James returned to Mariposa after his military service where he married and started a family. He later moved to San Jose. James remarried and moved to Westwood, Calif., where he lived until the time of his death.

James loved his family and the great outdoors, including fishing and hunting.

Services and a celebration of life, including a pot luck meal, will be held at the Midpines Hall at the County Park on Oct. 7, 2017, at 11 a.m.
