Sinclair continues to serve in his Navy role

Capt. Jeffrey W. Sinclair is a native of Mariposa and graduate of Mariposa County High School. After graduating from the United States Naval Academy in May 1991, he was assigned to USS Wadsworth (FFG-9), serving onboard from April 1992 to April 1995 as First Lieutenant, Main Propulsion Assistant and Navigator.

He was then ordered back to USNA as an instructor in the Department of Seamanship and Navigation from May 1995 to June 1998, where he also earned his master’s degree in Public Administration from Troy State University.

Following completion of the department head course in Newport, Rhode Island, he served as First Lieutenant in USS Gunston Hall (LSD-44) followed by a tour as Operations Officer (N3) on the staff of Commander Amphibious Squadron Six.

From May 2002 to November 2003, he completed his second shore assignment as Current Operations Officer (N32) on the staff of Commander Amphibious Group Two, which deployed as CATF East in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Upon completion of the PXO and leadership courses in Newport, he returned to sea and assumed duties as Executive Officer in USS Oak Hill (LSD-51) from February 2004 to September 2005.

From Oct 2005 to October 07 he served on the CNO’s staff in OPNAV N81 (Resources and Assessments) as a Seabasing and Amphibious lift analyst.

He then served as Commanding Officer, USS Carter Hall (LSD-50) from June 2008 to December 2009.

Following his initial command tour he served as Chief Staff Officer and Commodore of Patrol Coastal Squadron One from December 2009 to December 2011.

He then served at Naval Sea Systems Command as the Division Director for PMS 470 while concurrently qualifying for major Acquisition command.

Capt. Sinclair served as the Program Manager for Surface Training Systems (PMS-339) from August 2014 to June 2017 where he was responsible for the development, acquisition and lifecycle management of over 300 state-of-the-art military training systems.

Capt. Sinclair is currently serving in PEO Littoral Combat Ships.

Sinclair is authorized to wear numerous campaign, unit and personal awards earned by the sailors he worked with and had the honor to lead.

He is the son of Linda Sinclair and brother of Ed Sinclair. He currently resides in Virginia with his wife and two daughters.
