Wichmann, the 6-foot-5, 319-pound offensive lineman, was drafted by the Rams in the sixth round of the 2015 National Football League Draft. He started 18 games for the Rams over his first few seasons.

Should Wichmann clear waivers, he could theoretically be offered a practice squad contract with the Rams, but on Wednesday afternoon, Wichmann said he doesn’t believe that will be the case based on some of the roster transactions the Rams have made.

“It doesn’t look like I’ll be going back with the Rams any time soon,” Wichmann told the Gazette.

Wichmann, who graduated from Mariposa County High School and Fresno State University, said he will look back fondly on his time with the Rams.

“Absolutely,” Wichmann said. “I made a lot of good friends that I’ll have for life. My time there was good. I’m happy to have met those people and the coaches I’ve played for.”

In the meantime, Wichmann said he is planning to attend a workout Monday with the Tennessee Titans.
