Steven Holt

Steven Michael Holt, 63, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 17, 2017.

He was born on July 21, 1954 in Los Angeles, Calif., to Hal and Rita Holt. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bobby Holt; and nephew, Tommy Holt.

Steve was a wonderful, caring, giving man and would always be there to help you in times of need. Family was everything to him and he will be greatly missed by them as well as his friends.

He worked in many fields through the years, but settled in well as a handyman. He was very conscientious about doing the job right and would often put in extra time without charging to make sure everything was done to the expectations of his clients.

Steve will be remembered most, however, for his love of boats — fast boats. His free time was spent either getting the boat ready for or being at the lake. His need for speed was evident; it was in his blood, as his father, Hal, raced boats in his younger years. Boating has been a big part of the family ever since.

Steve was, as well as his family, very proud that he had been sober for 24 years. This achievement serves as an example of his strength and commitment to both himself and his family.

He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Laura Holt; children: Michele Holt, Steven Jr. (Imogen) Holt, Ray ( Jessica) Holt, Stacy Plaster, Ryan (Angie) Plaster, Alyssa (Rob) Donnelly; 14 grandchildren; and his siblings: Karen ( John) Potton, Tim ( June) Holt and Bev (Ray) Thatcher.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the First Baptist Church on Sept. 2, 2017 at 10 a.m.
