She was born Aug. 16, 1934 in Santa Cruz, Calif., to Viola and Vern Snyder.
She worked for 26 years as a nurse/ CNA at the Napa Veterans Hospital.
Virginia was the owner of 1,300 salt and pepper shakers, a member of the Mariposa Lutheran Church, Women of the ELCA, enjoyed gardening and had a love for hummingbirds.
She is survived by her husband, James “Bud” A. Woodson; sons, James Allan Woodson, Kenneth Verne Woodson and Dennis Wayne Woodson; daughter Darlene Denise Woodson; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sisters Verna Cox and Marjorey Snyder.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 22 at the Lutheran Church in Mariposa.
In lieu of flowers, persons are asked to make donations to an organization helping to fight cancer.
