Lois May Pierce

Lois May Pierce was born Sept. 4, 1937 to Francis Ray Mac and Ella Mae McCormick. She left this world to be in Heaven on March 17, 2017.

Lois married the love of her life, Webb, in 1962, and together they had one child, a daughter. Being a military family, they traveled and lived in Europe, where they made wonderful memories. They made their home in Cathey’s Valley upon Webb’s retirement from the Air Force in 1976. Here, she hosted many family gatherings for holidays and birthdays, and friends were always welcomed.

Lois had many talents. She loved making and painting ceramics, macrame and knitting and crocheting afghans and sweaters for loved ones. Her foremost love, though, was her family. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her daughter and grandchildren, and that time spent will forever be treasured.

Lois was preceded in death by her father Mac, mother Mae and husband Webb (Francis). She is survived by her daughter, Anna Richardson ( Jeffery) of Mariposa, brothers Jim McCormick of Hawaii, Rocky Collins of Boulder Creek, Tom Collins of San Jose and Curtis McCormick of Merced, as well as grandchildren Hope, Tyler, Dylan, Emma, Isabel, Brayden, Coleman and Brady.

Services will be held at Mariposa Funeral Home on April 9, 2017, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ray Shull officiating. Graveside services at Cathey’s Valley Cemetery and a potluck reception will follow at McCay Hall in Cathey’s Valley.
