In memoriam

Lucille Regina was born on July 10, 1934 in Chicago, Ill., and was sent to a Catholic orphanage.

Lucille’s adopted parents, Nathan and Minnie, came to the United States via Ellis Island in the 1940s.

Nathan opened a physicians practice and then he and Minnie adopted Lucille. Lucille grew up in Springfield, Ill., where she resided until her teen years.

Lucille moved to Los Angeles with her family and attended University High School where she met her husband, Lee. They married and had two children, Mark and Janice, who survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee, and her parents.

Lucille loved to travel as did her father and she worked for years on the Princess

Cruise line “The Love Boat.” She lived in Long Beach and then moved to Mariposa to live closer to her daughter. She had many wonderful friends in the community, including where she lived at the Joe Howard Apartments.

Her grandson, David, and great-grandson, Jayden, enjoyed spending time with Lucille. She moved to her daughter’s home until she died on Feb. 29, 2016.

Per her wishes, she was cremated and her ashes spread in the ocean to float to Aruba, one of her favorite places.

To all her friends besides her butterfly, Janice, she loved you all and thanks you for all the happiness you brought her.
