Wilda LaCava

Wilda Vivian LaCava, age 95, passed away peacefully on Feb. 12, 2017, in Madera. Wilda is in God’s hands and with those who passed away before her including parents Robert and Minnie McNally and adoptive parents, Spencer and Minnie Pierce, and sons Neil and C. Robin Hutchings.

Wilda was born Nov. 12, 1921 in Chinese Camp, Tuolumne County. Wilda moved to Mariposa with Spencer and Minnie Pierce as a child. Wilda graduated from Mariposa County High School and shortly after was married to Carroll Hutchings and together they had four children.

Wilda was also married to James LaCava of Merced. Wilda worked for the California State Department of Motor Vehicles, Merced Sun-Star, John C. Fremont Hospital and in the Merced College Library.

Wilda enjoyed playing with her cats, cooking, reading, visiting casinos, jazz bands and spending time with family and friends.

Wilda is survived by her children, Michael Hutchings and wife Karen of Raymond and daughter Patrica Carlos of Sacramento; six grandchildren: Tricia, Charlie, Wesley, Spencer, Neil and Jesse; and five great grandchildren.

Per her request, no services will be held.
