Mariposa came back from a 14-0 deficit and had a great chance of winning after a late rushing touchdown from quarterback Wyatt Green put them up 38-36. But a 58-yard run by Hughson quarterback Conner Stoddard with 1:24 remaining gave the Oilers the decisive margin of victory.

It would have been the first Trans Valley Youth Football League (TVYFL) Super Bowl in the history of the Bears. For more details, see the upcoming edition of the Gazette.
