MCHS baseball to hold alumni game, award ceremony, BBQ on Sunday

Matt Johnson

The Mariposa County High School baseball team will be holding its end of the year awards ceremony, appreciation BBQ and alumni game this Sunday at Ed Vegely Field (upper track at MCHS).

The events kick-off at noon, with a ceremony to honor chosen individuals who strengthened the team with their hard work and attitude. At 12:30 p.m., the alumni fundraiser game will begin, which is $15 per player.

At 4:30, the second annual MCHS home run derby will begin. The derby costs $10 for 10 chances to advance. Note: a pitching machine will be used accordingly.

From 1:30-5 p.m., refreshments, snacks, hot dogs and food will be available throughout the afternoon. Anyone participating in activities must sign a waiver for precaution, available at sign-ups. Anyone able to volunteer or help out can contact head coach Justin Kleinsmith on his home phone at 966-7782 or via text at 209-264-1825.

The team looks forward to celebrating their monumental year with the rest of the community.
