Gerald Oswald

On May 3, 2016, the Lord Jesus took Gerald “Jerry” Robert Oswald home.

Jerry was born Oct. 1, 1946, in Burbank, Calif., weighing only 2 pounds, one ounce and he had a twin brother, Tom, who only lived seven hours.

Jerry spent the majority of his first

25 years living in Newhall, a suburb in Southern California.

After his father’s retirement from 20th Century Fox, he and his parents moved to Grass Valley, Calif., where he became involved in the program of the Nevada County Regional Center and worked as a busboy at Mountain Mike’s Pizza. For a short time, he worked at Pride Industries and then transferred to the Neighborhood Center of the Arts, where he especially excelled in woodworking.

When he could no longer live independently, he moved to Mariposa and was cared for by his brother, Richard, and sister-in-law, JoAnn. Jerry became a client of Social Vocational Services in Oakhurst where he made many friends. While Jerry lived in Mariposa, he attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. For the past two-and-one-half years, Jerry was a resident of Twilight Haven in Fresno.

Jerry will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, love of old cars and his knowledge of 60s and 70s TV actors and programs.

Jerry leaves behind two sisters, Barbara of Seattle, Wash., and Mary Lou of Nelson, British Columbia, Canada; a brother, Richard and sister-in-law JoAnn of Mariposa; and many nieces and nephews, all of whom loved him very much.
