Dinner benefit for Deputy Mirelez sold out

The benefit dinner for Mariposa County Sheriff's Deputy Rudy Mirelez, who was shot in the line of duty Oct. 1, is sold out.

The dinner is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24, beginning at 5 p.m. at the Mariposa County Fairgrounds. The California Highway Patrol is reminding people that with the large number of attendees, parking will be limited. Highway 49 South, in front of the fairgrounds, will be constricted because of vehicles parking along the shoulders. Attendees are being asked to carpool, if possible, to reduce the number of vehicles coming and going from the area. The CHP will have increased traffic control signs near the fairgrounds, and additional CHP units will be on patrol in the area.
