Football game will be dedicated to Deputy Mirelez

Rudy MirelezRudy MirelezOn Friday, Oct. 7, Mariposa County High School is dedicating the home football game against Orestimba to Deputy Rudy Mirelez, who was shot while on duty Oct. 1. The varsity football players will be wearing blue ribbons on their helmets to represent Mirelez’ bravery and dedication to the safety of the community.

MCHS Athletics will donate $1 from every paid admission to the fund. A portion of the proceeds from the Associated Student Body sophomore class concession stand and the Grizzly Booster’s concessions will be donated as well.

The MCHS cheerleaders will donate 100 percent of proceeds of the spirit items that are sold that evening. Donations will also be accepted and there will be a collection point for silent auction items for the benefit dinner, scheduled for Oct. 24. The football game starts at 7:30 p.m.
