(Rusty Avery | CONTRIBUTED)Tuesday, June 9, 2015 - 1:20 p.m. - A car fire that erupted along Darrah Road around 12:30 p.m. briefly drew six engines in response, a CAL FIRE spokesperson said today.

The fire, which spread to a limited area of grass, was quickly extinguished. While it burned, though, the small blaze released fumes that smelled "like burning rubber," passerby Rusty Avery said.

"The smoke was thick," added Avery, who happened on the scene before firefighters. The Lushmeadows resident then snapped a photo as firefighters snuffed out the blaze.
