Obituary

Eldora June (Adolph) Halliday, 81, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 30, 2015.

Eldora was born in Sanger in 1933 and attended Sanger High School. Eldora met and married the love of her life, a handsome Texan and U.S. Marine, Thomas (Ted) E. Halliday III, in 1953. Ted and Eldora had two children, Thomas IV (Tom), and Lori.

Eldora was retired from the National Park Service. Her favorite job was working as a dispatcher in the law enforcement office in Yosemite.

Ted and Eldora had many wonderful adventures and lived in many places: Peyote, Texas, Honolulu, Hawaii, Fresno, El Portal, Mariposa, Badlands, S.D., and her and Ted’s favorite place, Hot Springs, S.D.

Eldora had most recently been residing at the Cedarbrook Memory Care facility in Fresno.

Eldora was preceded in death by her husband Ted, her parents, Henry and Amelia Adolph, her sister Gladys Kelly, and her sister Evelyn Steinhauer.

Eldora is survived by her son, Tom Halliday, his wife Teresa and their daughter Deanna; Eldora’s daughter, Lori Law, her husband Matt and their son Jarrod, Jarrod’s wife Shaunna, and Jarrod’s three children, Marshall, Allison and Corbin. Eldora also has three surviving siblings, Norman Adolph, Bobbie O’Leary and Edie McHaley.

Eldora’s family would like to extend a very heartfelt thanks to the staff of Cedarbrook Memory Care, who not only cared for her, but had become her extended family. Eldora was treated with the utmost love, kindness, dignity and respect during her final days there.

There will be no local services. A celebration of Eldora’s life and the burial of her remains will be in Ranger, Texas, in July, when Eldora will once again be reunited with her beloved Ted.

In lieu of flowers or monetary remembrances, Eldora and her family would most appreciate a big smile as you think of her.
