National Weather Service forecasters fretted about the storm's impact on the trans-Sierra Tioga Road, which runs from west to east through Yosemite National Park. The forecasters said they contacted the Park, and subsequently reported that "any snow on Tioga Pass will cause (the Tioga Road) to shut down."

The high-elevation route opened this May 4--an unusually early opening due to the region's low snowfall and severe drought.
