Residents are warned about burglaries

Friday, April 24, 2015 - 9 a.m. - The Mariposa County Sheriff's Office is warning residents of the Lushmeadows and Ponderosa Basin communities about a string of burglaries that have occurred there recently.

At least six daytime residential burglaries have been logged over the past week, Sheriff Doug Binnewies said on Thursday.

All of the thefts took place between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.

"In each case the burglars are quickly in and out of the residence, gaining entry through an unlocked door or window," the Sheriff said. "The burglars are taking small items (like) jewelry, guns, money, collectibles or alcohol."

Residents are advised to lock doors and windows whenever they are not at home.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call 966-3615.
