(Erik Skindrud | The GAZETTE)Thursday, March 26, 2015 - 10 a.m. - A large juniper tree toppled onto a utility line at Bullion and 12th streets around 9 a.m. this morning, interrupting traffic but not electric power.

There was no apparent cause for the tree heaving over, Mariposa County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Chris Ramirez said.

The tree "may have been dry" due to the region's ogoing drought, Ramirez speculated.

A PG&E crew was on site to inspect the damage. It was not immediately apparent whether the affected line was a power or a telephone line.
