Ferguson Project kickoff ceremony is Friday

(Caltrans | CONTRIBUTED)Wednesday, March 11, 2015 - 1:30 p.m. - Malcolm Dougherty, Director of the state's Caltrans roads agency, is set to speak at this Friday's Ferguson Rockslide kickoff event.

As of Wednesday, close to 70 seats were still available. Reservations are required, and can be had by contacting Caltrans spokesperson Angela DaPrato at 948-7176 or angela.daprato@dot.ca.gov.

When complete several years from now, the project will restore two-lane travel to the slide zone by creating a rockshed structure.

District 1 Supervisor Rosemarie Smallcombe is also scheduled to speak at the event. 

Attendees must RSVP and ride designated YARTS buses to the event. No parking will be available on site.
