Jury finds Chenot guilty of June 22 arson

Kimberly ChenotKimberly ChenotFriday, Feb. 20, 2015 - 2:15 p.m. - A Mariposa County jury today found Kimberly Chenot guilty of a June 22 arson that destroyed a Midpines home.

The jury also found Chenot guilty of making a criminal threat. She will be sentenced at 9 a.m. on Monday, March 30 in Mariposa County Superior Court.

The evidence showed that Chenot triggered an explosion and subsequent fire at the Colorado Road home of Lisa Coats by opening a propane line, the jury found.

"It was easy (to make up my mind)," one male juror said. "The facts as presented were overwhelming."
