Blaze destroys mobile home

Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015 - 2:55 p.m. - Just after 2 p.m. today, emergency personnel responded to a residential structure fire on Colorado Road.

First responders found a mobile home, completely surrounded by dense brush and debris, fully engulfed.

The residents of the mobile escaped the fire. It is unknow if any injuries were sustained by the residents.

Firefighters were able to keep the blaze from spreading into the heavy underbrush or to adjacent mobile homes and outbuldings, altough one 100-foot Ponderosa pine next to the burn site was ignited.

Due to the extreme dryness of vegetation during the current drought, the pine tree was fully engaged in only about three seconds.
