Dean takes Yosemite Conservancy helm

(Yosemite Conservancy | CONTRIBUTED)(Yosemite Conservancy | CONTRIBUTED)Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015 - 2 p.m. - National Park Service veteran Frank Dean will succeed outgoing Yosemite Conservancy President and CEO Mike Tollefson, the group announced today.

Tollefson served as Yosemite National Park Superintendent from 2003 to 2009, when he took the Conservancy's helm. Dean previously worked in Yosemite National Park, as well as Saratoga National Historical Park and Point Reyes National Seashore--where he worked with current Yosemite Superintendent Don Neubacher.

Tollefson will work with Dean to effect a smooth transition. Dean worked in Yosemite from 1990 to 1995 and served as management assistant to the Park superintendent.

In 2013, Tollefson was paid $269,628 to serve in the group's top spot, tax documents relate.

The Yosemite Conservancy is a fundraising organization that contributed $10.5 million to the Park last year.
