Robert Alan Przybyla

Robert Alan Przybyla, 57, of Mariposa, passed peacefully at home in the afternoon on Christmas Day, with his wife Jennifer at his side.

Rob left with no regrets, saying he had a great run and wouldn’t change a thing.

He was born in Newark, N.J. on Dec. 5, 1957. Rob was the fourth child of Edward and Emily Przybyla. They moved to La Crescenta (Los Angeles County) when Rob was only three months old.

Rob worked for the county for more than 20 years, the last 10 in the sign shop. A longtime member of the Mariposa Field Hippies, he earned the nickname “too tall.” He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and a man’s man.

He is survived by his wife Jennifer, son Jaxzyn, daughter Jocey, brother Alan Przybyla (Margaret), sister Darlene McGuire (Jim), sister Cynthia Williams (Rob), nieces Emily Dondero (Timothy), Lisa Carisio, nephews Cole Przybyla-Williams (Madison), Tony Carisio (May), Josh McGuire (Catrina), great-niece Dori Palau and grandson Matthew Ketner.

If he could tell us how he wanted us to remember him, I’d think he’d say we should dry our tears and smile. He always made people feel good, and that’s how we’ll remember him.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be to the family at Yosemite Bank. The account No. is 307018888.

A reception will be held at the Miner’s Inn in Mariposa on Saturday, Jan. 10 from 3 to 5 p.m.
