(Erik Skindrud | The GAZETTE)Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2015 - 8:45 a.m. - Foothill residents were dealing with patches of dense fog early today, but sun and temperatures in the 70s are forecast to warm the area beginning on Wednesday.

No rain is forecast during the next seven-day period, however.

With the county's seasonal rainfall sitting at a little over 50-percent of normal, ranchers, skiers and others are hoping for more rain and snow.

"Unfortunately, it looks pretty grim that any weather system will come along during the next seven days to flush (fog) out of the (Central Valley's) proverbial bathtub," the National Weather Service said this morning.
