Marilyn Eastwood

Marilyn Eastwood was born on July 17, 1938 in Fort Madison, Iowa, to Dale and Virginia Craine. She went to be with the Lord she loved on Oct. 27, 2014.

Marilyn married Delos (Red) Eastwood on July 27, 1957 in Barstow, and they raised their three children throughout the state, living in Barstow, Bakersfield, Fresno, Modesto, and Merced— finally settling in Mariposa in 1985.

Red and Marilyn owned and operated the Eastwood’s 49er Market and Stage Stop for many years. She was loved by all who knew her, and touched many lives through her work in the community and at Grace Community Church. Her love for her family and her Lord Jesus Christ was evident to everyone who met her.

Marilyn is survived by her beloved husband Red, her sister Nancy Quaney (Cheyenne, Wyo.), daughter Nancy and her husband Gary Johnson (Mariposa), son Steve and his wife Vivian (Fresno) and son Mike and his wife Heather (Fresno). She is also survived by eight grandchildren, including Bethany Johnson, Rebekah and Victor Gonzalez, Mark Johnson, Chris Eastwood, Scott and Tarah Eastwood, Daniel Eastwood, David and Rachal Eastwood, and Josh and Bonnie Eastwood. She is also surved by three greatgrandchildren, including Leighla and Josslyn Eastwood and Fox Gonzalez.

A celebration of her life will be held at Grace Community Church of the Sierras on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 1 p.m. All are invited to attend.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the National Kidney Foundation. Memorial gifts may be made through the foundation’s Web site at www.kidney.org.
