Everett “Lindy” McNally

Lifelong Mariposa resident Everett “Lindy” McNally passed away at his home on Oct. 29, 2014.

He was born to parents Henry and Dora McNally on Jan. 13, 1928, spending his childhood growing up and attending high school in Mariposa. McNally then went on to serve his country in the Navy aboard the USS Allagash. “Lindy,” as he was known, then worked as a foreman for the roads division of the Mariposa County Public Works Department for 40 years.

McNally liked spending time working on home projects, whether it was building a rock wall, welding or crafting something for one of his grandchildren, and always saving those “spare parts” for future use. If you needed a hand with anything, he was always quick to help out family and friends.

His loving wife of 59 years, Charlene, survives him. He is also survived by a sister, Velma Tarver of Sparks, Nev., and by his children Vonny McNally of Chowchilla, and Marc (Sandy) McNally of Oakhurst. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, including Kara (Jason) Richter of San Diego, Darren Scoggins of Atwater, Dede McNally of Atwater, Derek Mc- Nally of Merced, Courtney Aiello and Conner Aiello, both of Oakhurst, and by six great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

No services will be held, as per the family’s request.

Donations in McNally’s honor may be made to Hospice Care, John C. Fremont Healthcare District, PO Box 216, Mariposa CA 95338.
