Ronald Gayle Trabucco

Ronald Gayle Trabucco, a native of Mariposa, passed away on Sept. 27, 2014 at his home in Reno.

Ron, the son of Emile and Leslie Trabucco, also of Mariposa, was born on April 1, 1926 in Richmond, as there was no hospital in the county at that time. The newborn son was brought home to Mariposa, where he lived until 2000 when he moved to Reno with the love of his life, Helen.

Ron and Helen were married on Sept. 25, 1948. He assisted his parents in running the family business, Trabucco’s Shopping Center, until taking over when Emile and Les retired. In 1945, during World War II, at the age of 19 he joined the Navy. He was called up again during the Korean War.

Ron was preceded in death by his wife Helen Mc- Nutt Trabucco, his sisters Pauline Trabucco, Jane Rust, and Nadine Caldwell. He is also survived by his three daughters, Kathy (Larry) Harvison of Bismarck, N.D., Linda (Roy) Jacobs of Mariposa, Darlene (Darrel) Benson of Mariposa, granddaughter Wendy Osikafo, grandsons Wayne Harvison, Cory Jacobs, Jeremy Jacobs, Chad Benson and Trevor Benson— and 12 great-grand children. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
