Town receives more than an inch of rain

(Erik Skindrud | The GAZETTE)Monday, Sept. 29, 2014 - 10:45 a.m. - A storm total of 1.12 inches of rain was recorded at Mariposa's automated weather station as of this morning, with more received at higher elevations. 

As of this morning, 1.4 inches of rain had fallen at Coulterville. The total was the highest storm amount recorded across "interior Central California," a National Weather Service statement released today said.

Building high pressure is expected to return the region to above-normal temperatures by the end of the week. As of today, the forecast Mariposa high on Friday, Oct. 3 is expected to hit 88 degrees.
