Kenneth Duane Kish

Kenneth Duane Kish passed away on Aug. 7, 2014 in Redding, Calif. He was 73.

Born in Colfax (Placer County), Kish spent his younger days wandering the Sierra foothills with his dog and .22 rifle. He was a true country boy, his son Russell Kish of Mariposa recalled.

Kenneth worked as a mechanic for close to 50 years—25 of those for PG&E in Mariposa County.

“His life was his wife, kids, grandkids, fishing, hunting and photography, pretty much in that order,” the younger Kish recalled.

Towards the end of his life, Kenneth told his daughter Wendy that was grateful to have raised his family in the Jerseydale area of Mariposa County.

He finally succumbed to cancer, but was strong to the very end, never complaining about the pain and inconvenience he experienced.

Kish is survived by his wife, Pat Kish, his sons Lonnie and Russell, his daughters Lynette and Wendy, his brothers David and Jim, and 1-year-old grandchild Jake Kish.

“We love you and miss you, Pop,” Russell Kish said.
