Community holds Sept. 11 event

(Erik Skindrud | The GAZETTE)Friday, Sept. 12, 2014 - 9 a.m. - More than 100 people gathered at the Mariposa Art Park on Thursday to recall the victims of the 2001 Sept. 11 attacks.

Attendees were led in prayer by Mariposa County Sheriff's Office Chaplain Eric VonRaeder. The gathering then observed three minutes of silence before leaving the event.

Among the attendees was Mariposa resident Dinah Cash, whose New York City firefighter uncle Tim Cash perished when the World Trade Center towers collapsed.
