(Erik Skindrud | The GAZETTE) Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 - 11 a.m. - Several downpours, accompanied by lightning and thunder, briefly filled gutters in the town of Mariposa this morning.

As of 11 a.m. today, National Weather Service radar showed most of the activity moving out of the county to the east. A chance of precipitation will remain for the area through this evening, forecasters said.

The rain, clouds and humidity are associated with the remains of the former Hurricane Norbert, which caused flooding in parts of Baja California several days ago.
