Linda Louise Mansell

Linda Louise Mansell, a longtime Mariposa resident, lost her battle with cancer on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014, surrounded by her family.

Linda was a retired special education teacher for more than 20 years in Mariposa. She was born on May 18, 1948 in Santa Rosa to Gerald and Barbara Johnson.

Linda was a loving, energetic woman whose zest for life was contagious. She had a passion for dogs and woodworking and pursued these passions as often as she could.

She is survived by her mother, Barbara Johnson of Mariposa, her sister, Cathleen Tratz of Lake Havasu, Nevada, and her sons, Steven Sayre of Redmond, Ore., Jamal Mansell of Mariposa and Gerald “Jerry” Mansell of Mariposa.

Linda was the loving grandmother to six and the great-grandmother to four.

Linda was a kind, loving woman who had an impact on everyone she met. Cancer took her away too soon, but she will live in our hearts forever. A private celebration of life will be held by family and close friends.
