Frederick A. Dixon

Frederick A. Dixon died peacefully at home in Mariposa on Aug. 23, 2014. He was 84.

Frederick was born in Chicago, Ill. on Jan. 27, 1930 and settled in Southern California in 1956, where he made a living as a truck driver.

He retired to Mariposa County in 1992, where he supplemented his income as the king of yard sales and master metal scrapper until his last days. Frederick was an avid volleyball player and loved gold panning.

Frederick was preceded in death by his parents, Robert And Lucille Dixon, by his children Annette Dixon and Danny Dixon, by his brothers Robert Dixon and Lester Dixon, his sister, Barbara Hudson, and by two grandchildren.

He is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Dixon. They were married one month short of 50 years.

He is also survived by his children, James Dixon, Susan Brandt, Cynthia Dixon and Sandra Green.

He is also survived by his brother, Clifford Dixon and sister, Rosalie Llanuusa, 14 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Mariposa Funeral Home Friday, Aug. 29 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, Aug. 30 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30 at the Mariposa Cemetery at 2 p.m.

A reception will immediately follow at Sandie and Greg Green’s house.
