Survey: Junction Fire destroyed 47 structures

(Robert Burrell / KMPH | CONTRIBUTED)Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014 - 4:15 p.m. - A Junction Fire damage-inspection team has documented 47 structures destroyed by this week's Oakhurst blaze. Most were "minor structures, such as outbuildings, motorhomes and storage containers," the report said.

As of this afternoon, the total area burned by the wildfire remained at 612 acres. The blaze was 65 percent contained.

Firefighters today concentrated on increasing containment and "aggressively mop(ping)-up interior hotspots," the fire information team also said.
