Jean Anne Grosjean Turner

Jean Anne Grosjean Turner was born to John and Florence Grosjean on March 4, 1929. She passed away on Aug. 4, 2014.

She grew up in Mariposa and attended Mariposa County High School. She had many jobs during her teen years in Mariposa, and it was said that she taught every kid in town how to swim.

Jean married Art Turner in April of 1951 and the couple settled in Modesto. She owned Zerbe Roofing in Modesto until she opened her own business, Jean’s Specialty Services in 1982.

Jean is preceded in death by her husband Art Turner. She is survived by the couple’s three children, Ray (Modesto), Lori (Clayton) and Tami of Hornitos— and by two grandchildren.

Jean will be missed by many. She had a gift for treating everyone with the same respect, regardless of their station in life.

A graveside service will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 15 at the Hornitos Cemetery, with a celebration of life to follow in the Golden Stag Hall.
