Small blaze blackens acre off Indian Peak Road

(Greg Knight | The GAZETTE)Tuesday, July 1, 2014 - 11 a.m. - A vegetation fire scorched an acre-sized parcel near Bower Ranch at the intersection of Indian Peak Road and Oak Grove Road on Tuesday, July 1. 

Both CAL FIRE and Mariposa County Fire Department personnel responded and knocked the flames down quickly. 

According to CAL FIRE, the cause of the fire remains under investigation, though it is suspected that the origin of the blaze came from the roadway adjacent to the burned area.
