Will recidivism drop with continued CORE funding?

Thursday, June 26, 2014 - 10:50 a.m. - The Mariposa County Board of Supervisors has approved a resolution continuing funding for the Center for Opportunity, Re-entry and Education, or “CORE” drop-in program for probationers and jail inmates.

CORE was established to see a downward trend in recidivism rates. Chief Probation Officer Pete Judy said it is still too early to know the end result of that plan, given the three years it has been in operation—and some law enforcement agencies’ changing set of definitions.
