School district reveals Common Core texts

This is an example of one of the new ways math will be taught in the classroom in California. The above problem uses traditional multiplication and combines it with a geometric formation to find the solution. (Mariposa County Unified School District | CONTRIBUTED) Tuesday, June 10, 2014 - 9:30 a.m. - The Mariposa County Unified School District is giving a first glimpse into the Common Core textbooks and other educational materials that will be used in the coming school year.

One of the most unique differences students and parents will see as the curriculum rolls out will be in mathematics, especially at the high school level, where algebra and geometry will be united in the classroom.

English language skills will also be used to teach math.

Thank goodness that Mr.

Thank goodness that Mr. Garcia and Ms. Schneider were able to bring these materials into the classroom this past year. The jumpstart for our students will prove invaluable. Great to see the District communicate to shareholders.
