(Greg Knight | The GAZETTE)Wednesday, June 11, 2014 - 1 p.m. - Unbeknownst to administrators at Mariposa County High School, a group of students, led by senior Heidi Bassett, pulled what could arguably be the best "senior prank" of 2014 on Wednesday, June 11.

The prank—bringing a live camel to the senior parking lot on the last day of school, and a hump-day Wednesday—was facilitated by Lloyd Pereira Farms in Snelling through the help of fellow seniors Conner Cole and Kylie Treese.

Bassett, who had been planning the escapade for months, said social networking aided in her search for the animal that is native to Central Asia.

"I couldn't have done it without the help of the other seniors, especially Faith McCoy, and the use of Facebook," Bassett said. "I originally saw the idea on Pinterest, so I went on Facebook and begged for anyone that could help. That's how we got it here."

With this being our last

With this being our last senior to graduate (#5 whew), I must admit that this class has been the most creative and respectful class! Good luck Class of 2014, we know you all will do great! Mariposa High School, after Friday, this Ott Family will also say our farewells. Best of luck for continued success. Sincerely, Robert and Melinda Ottl
