(Ryan Oliphant | CONTRIBUTED)Tuesday, June 3, 2014 - 1 p.m. - The 2014 Grizzly spring practice team won the 7-on-7 passing tournament on Saturday, May 31 by beating the Panthers of Pacheco High School, 26-12, in the championship game played at Minarets High School.

The game was a rematch of an earlier game where Pacheco beat the Grizzlies, 16-13.

Grizzly head coach Ryan Oliphant said the victory came down to his players believing they could win.

“Pacheco is a big school with a lot of talented football players.” Oliphant said. “They were big, fast and physical.  I believe our players were intimidated the first time we played them. We had a lot of players that were playing at the varsity level for the first time. After we lost to them, I talked to the team.  I told them that we could beat them.  We could run with them, we just needed to believe it.”
