Monday, May 26, 2014 - 11:45 a.m. - The tracksters for Mariposa County had a significant showing at the Sac-Joaquin Section Division IV-V trials and finals on May 20 and 22, with a number of runners and field event competitors recording personal bests at the meet at CSU Stanislaus in Turlock.

Out of the gate, junior Kamare Bailey ran the 100-meter dash in 11.26 seconds during preliminary heats for a tie for 16th place. That time stands as his personal record and gives him a No. 4 showing on the top-10 list of Southern Leaguers.

Bailey also took the No. 10 spot in Southern League in the 200-meter dash with a time of 23.62. He also cracked the No. 15 spot in long jump with a leap of 19-feet, 2-inches for another personal best. On the girls’ side, Sophomore Camryn Dutrey ran her 100-meter prelim race in 14.06 seconds for a 24th place finish.
