David D. Kitchen

David D. Kitchen passed away at home on May 18, 2014.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years Jewel Kitchen, his daughter Joan Harry, a granddaughter Angie and a grandson Michael. Also, five of his brothers preceded him in death.

David was born on June 17, 1925 in Okmulgee, Okla. to Scully Kitchen and Jessie Roland of Missouri. David worked as a pasteurizer for 20 years in Bakersfield before moving to Mariposa in 1973. He then worked for the Mariposa County Fairgrounds and the county roads department—from which he retired in 1987.

David is survived by his three children, Judy Jones, Stephen Kitchen (Polly) and Marina Fisher (Ron). He is also survived by his brother Fred Kitchen of Ukiah and sister Martha Irving of Bakersfield, 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

All his surviving family members miss him very much.

Arrangements are under the direction of Greenlawn Funeral Home of Bakersfield—where he lived for 30 years. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27.
