Jail moves to kiosk system for inmate cash

The Mariposa County Adult Detention Facility has started using a kiosk system for depositing inmate funds. This kiosk is located in the lobby of the jail. Another is located at the booking desk. (Greg Knight | The GAZETTE)Friday, May 23, 2014 - 3:45 p.m. - The Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office is in the process of transitioning its inmate commissary program to a modern and more efficient digital commissary kiosk system.

Two new kiosks, which are located in the lobby of the Mariposa County Adult Detention Center and the booking area, will allow the public to place money on the books for inmates electronically.

This allows the inmate and booking officer at the jail to enter the inmate’s money into the kiosk for accounting.
