Lawrence Lee Todd

Lawrence Lee Todd of Mariposa died peacefully on Saturday, May 3, 2014. He was 81. Larry was born to Marlin and Gladys Todd in Harlowton, Mont. on Oct. 24, 1932. He grew up in Rygate and Billings, Mont. and spent his adult years in California.

He was preceded in death by his parents Marlin and Gladys Todd, brothers Leslie and Kenny Todd and stepfather Tom Marchiano.

Larry is survived by his wife Chris, brother Al and his wife Lynn, (Palo Alto), daughter LeeAnne (San Leandro), son Tom (San Jose), daughter Lisa Silva, her husband Joe, and grandchildren Anthony, Raechael and Moses (Colorado), stepson Bret Stewart and his wife Bonnie (El Cajon), grandson Matt, stepdaughter Lisa Larimore and her husband Brian, grandchildren Sean and Caitlin (Davis), and numerous nieces and nephews.

Larry served in the Korean War for two years. He worked as an electronics engineer and later as a high school occupational-training teacher.

Upon retirement, Larry was very active in the Mariposa community. He was co-founder of the local Experimental Aircraft Association chapter, cofounder of the Mariposa Fly-In, and active in the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Larry drove veterans to the Veterans Affairs hospital in Fresno, and was on the board of directors of the Golden Agers at the Mariposa Senior Activity Center.

He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol for several years. He did taxes for seniors through AARP tax program at the senior center. Larry will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Larry’s name be made to Mariposa’s Manna House (742-7985) or United Methodist Church (966-3419).

The community is invited to a memorial service celebrating Larry’s life at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 24 at Mariposa’s United Methodist Church.
