New CSA passes

Tuesday, May 13, 2014 - 7:32 p.m. - The ballots on the new CSA initiative have been counted and the measure passed, 2066 to 1328.

Only 3,394 ballots of the 7,200 mailed were returned. The new measure is an attempt by the board of supervisors to address the lawsuit brought by Mariposa County Auditor and his related organization that claims the initial measure was unconstitutional under California law.

The new measure does not add any new fee to the existing parcel tax, it simply replaces the original $80 per year measure.

Look for all the details and the implications in this week's edition of the Mariposa Gazette.
