(Greg Knight | The GAZETTE)Wednesday, April 30, 2014 - 4:45 p.m. - The Mariposa Grizzlies hosted the third Central California Athletic Alliance track and field meet of the season on Wednesday, April 30.

The meet comes just days after Mariposa traveled to the Bret Harte Invitational meet in Angel’s Camp on Saturday, April 26, where a group of Grizzlies had a banner day, with 26 medals awarded, 31 personal-best records set, and field competitor Sara Camacho reaching the top-five in the Sac-Joaquin section in pole vault.

Camacho, a junior for the Grizzlies, has been on top of her game all season in vaulting—though she outdid herself at Angel's Camp by flying a 7-foot, 6-inch showing to take the No. 5 spot in section and record a personal best.

Junior Heather Oldfield cruised to a 6-foot showing in the pole vault event as well at the Bret Harte meet.

Read the May 8, 2014 edition of the GAZETTE for coverage of both meets.
