Greg Knight | The GAZETTETuesday, April 15, 2014 - 8:40 a.m. - After blasting away at Gustine in an 8-2 road victory on Tuesday, April 8, the Grizzlies’ baseball team retained its primacy in the Southern Athletic League by beating the Reds 7-0 at home just two days later.

The wins give Mariposa a commanding 8-0 league record, with a 10-3 record overall, and sets the stage for another run at a section championship.

For pitcher Sam Tucker, it was almost a perfect game as he tossed for zero hits going into the seventh inning. It was only after a walk, handed out to Reds batter Spencer Nunes, that Gustine managed to record a single from Louis Gorshe.
