Lady Grizzlies blast Denair, 16-0

Greg Knight | The GAZETTEWednesday, April 9, 2014 - 8:30 a.m. - The Lady Grizzlies' softball team demolished the Lady Coyotes of Denair at home on Tuesday, April 8, winning the game in a 16-0 Southern Athletic League shutout.

Denair just couldn't keep its hands on the ball, committing eight errors and allowing the sizzling hot Mariposa bats—and base stealers—a total of 11 runs in the second inning.

Shea Williams logged four runs and an RBI double, while Claire Bullis followed closely with a trio of runs and an RBI triple. Ashlynn Zurilgen hit for an RBI double, and, along with Genevieve Kelsey, scored a pair of runs.

The Lady Grizzlies will host Le Grand on Wednesday, April 9, and end a three-game home stand as Gustine makes the trip up from the valley on Thursday, April 10.
